Welcome to the website of 'the bug' backpackers Nelson. We are a small homestyle backpackers, well renovated with modern furniture and fittings. More essentially we are super clean.

This is an owner operated hostel with all the passion, service and enthusiasm you'd expect to enjoy from us living on site. As your hosts, Anthony and Steph, we are fresh from travel ourselves and always planning our next trip. We believe we have just the set up for the modern, independent traveller. We work hard to create the perfect atmosphere for our guests. Only four years open we are super keen and looking forward to meeting you all.

Here is our lounge room to relax and swap stories. Head to the outdoor furniture to enjoy the sunny garden. A home, with a garden to relax - just sit back and plan your next adventure!! Plan with others at the regular barbecues. Here is the Christmas Day barbecue last season.
